We have been having a blast learning all about “What kinds of things you can find growing in nature?” We discovered many fun facts about different kinds of animals in nature, what types of thigs grow on farms, and explored all about plants! Today we enjoyed a read aloud of “Tops and Bottoms”, then sorted a few different types of plants you would find in a garden. We even had a little tasting party while we worked in our writers workshop. We learned that you can eat seeds, stems, leaves, and even flowers! We also had a fun science experiment and observed how Celery stalk absorbs coloring from the bottom, and moves liquid all the way to top of the stem. This is a fun activity to show how a stem can act as a straw as it moves the nutrients and water that a plant needs from the soil through the entire plant. I hope you enjoy the picture of our fun activities in the classroom today!

Tomorrow, we begin a new unit with a focus on Seasons and Weather. This week our essential question is “How are seasons different?” The vocabulary to support our learning will be: weather, seasons, migrate, active, and spot. We are working on writing the letter Bb and Ll properly, as well as the high frequency words: is and little.
