Kindergarten News Nov. 11-Nov. 15

We had a blast celebrating 50 fabulous days of Kindergarten last week! This week we have been very busy discovering what we can learn when we go to different places! Our essential question this week is “What sounds do we hear in different places?” The vocabulary words to help support a deeper understanding for this topic are: chat, exclaimed, familiar, listen, and volume. We are creating some amazing “Thankful Turkeys” and discussing all we have to be grateful for! I did not send home a homework folder this week. We have been working so hard in class and have continued to show perseverance to complete our classwork. Instead of homework, I asked each student to play a game with their family, playing kindly, and following directions. We are learning that the focus is on our journey and time together, not on whether we “won”.

Next week we have parent teacher conferences November 20 - November 22. If you have not signed up for your fall parent teacher conference please find a spot that will work for you. I am happy to create a time slot that is convenient if you do not see one that works for your schedule. We will have minimum days next Wednesday-Friday.

We have kicked off our food drive to support the Community Resource Center. Please bring in canned/dry goods to help support a great cause! The food drive will end November 22.

Please read our SJA Newsletter for more details on upcoming events!
