We have been having a blast during our kick off weeks in Kindergarten! Our class is settling into the daily routines, which are full of learning experiences in a positive environment! Our class has received continuous compliments from staff and Saint James families for their wonderful behavior and kind hearts. I am so blessed and very proud to be their teacher! Please see below for more details on upcoming events and areas of focus in Kindergarten this week. It was wonderful to meet each of you at Back to School night. I am very grateful for the support of each of the families. We will have two room parents this year. Thank you to Michelle Kuebitz (Henry K's mom) and Christine Battenfield (Eddie's mom) for volunteering as our Kindergarten room parents.
In our classroom, we are focusing each day on what it means to be grateful, ways to choose kindness and how to be a “bucket filler.”
We are learning with a Growth Mindset!

Having a growth mindset can help your child feel more confident in their ability to persevere and accomplish their goals. I am hopeful to help each of your children believe they are capable of reaching their individual goals by changing their mindset from "I can't", or "I won't.", "this is too hard!", to thinking "I can!", "I will!", "If I try, I can do it!". We all grow from each challenge set forth in our life. Each child can believe they are capable with a constant and simple reminder of the power of the "yet!"
Here are some books I recommend for developing a growth mindset...
Volunteer Information!
We will be ready for volunteers in the classroom beginning middle of October. I will send out more information regarding volunteers very soon.
Lunch Servers- Mrs. Kuhn is looking for parent volunteers to help serve lunch. If you are available please let me know, I will put you into contact with her. It's a great way to get service hours and it is fun to see all the students!
We celebrated a fantastic week with a fun water balloon toss with the 6th graders! It was also a fun way to stay cool in the heat!

We are very grateful to have Maestra Mendoza joining the SJA family! Our Kindergarten will have three Spanish lessons each week!
